The people of Oujé-Bougoumou have let their will be known in our recent elections.
The people have asked that I take on the responsibilities associated with the office of Chief and to lead the community into the next phase of our collective future. I accept this decision with a deep sense of responsibility and humility.
I would like to congratulate newly-elected Deputy Chief Randy Bosum as well as the new Council of the Oujé-Bougoumou Cree Nation consisting of former Chief Abel Bosum, former Chief Sam Bosum, Curtis Bosum, Rosie Rabbitskin and Margo Cooper.
Our new Council will provide a very good blend of experience, youth and gender representation to ensure that all sectors of our community will have a voice within the Council.
I would also like to extend my appreciation to former Chief Louise Wapachee for her leadership over the past four years, and also, for her graciously assisting to make the transition an easy one.
May we all be guided by wisdom, understanding and compassion as we take on the challenge of making Oujé-Bougoumou the best it can be.
