On top of the hill, a clinic and social services center are based in the Healing Center, inaugurated April 8, 1994.
Two nurses are on call 24 hours a day. A doctor and a dentist visit approximately every month. Bright, spacious, and fully equipped, it offers the same services as any community service center in the province.
This building, designed in accordance with Cree cultural characteristics, instills in us the challenge to search our own traditions and our own culture, bringing forward into the equation for healing those useful and successful remedies which have healed the bodies of our ancestors, and those ways of addressing personal problems which produced harmonious social relationships.
Part of our healing requires that we remain respectful of who we are and where we have come from and to ensure the continuity of our culture in all aspects of our new village life.
