Experience Cree culture at Nuuhchimi Wiinuu

David and Anna Bosum have been welcoming visitors to their cultural camp for over (?) years. In winter guests will experience snowshoeing, ice-fishing and will have an opportunity to create traditional Cree crafts. During the summer enjoy canoeing, hiking and other water activities. In both seasons, guests enjoy traditional Cree cuisine prepared on site. In keeping with the traditional Cree value of stewardship, Nuuhchimi Wiinuu is an environmentally friendly camp and can run independently for up to three days on a system of solar panels.

Explore the world-renowned Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute

Inspired by the Shaptuan, the Cree longhouse traditionally made of wood tree branches, the Aanischaaukamikw Cree Cultural Institute, occupies a central site in the heart of Ouje-Bougoumou. Intended as a museum and gathering place, the Institute serves as a showcase for Cree artifacts and as a venue for traditional music and storytelling events. Dedicated to the preservation and the transmission of Cree culture, Aanischaaukamikw includes a library and resource centre, permanent and temporary exhibit spaces.
