Hello everyone! My name is Joy Shecapio Blacksmith, I am 14 years old. I was born in Chibougamou on April 5, 1983. I live in Ouje-Bougoumou, Quebec, which is located 600 miles north of Montreal. I attend school in Ouje-Bougoumou at Waapihttiwewan school, but before I attended school in Chibougamou.

Before I lived in Ouje-Bougoumou I lived next to the highway in a camp with my family which, is was about 20 minutes out of Chibougamou, Quebec. At our camp we had electricity, but no running water, but we would get our water from the lake or at a trailer, which was located right across from were we lived and that was were we would also take our showers and do our laundry.

At our camp we would sometimes have cook outs, not far outside our camp. We would roast our goose or beaver, next to the fire and how we would do that is we would build a stick frame over the fire and then tie a rope around it so we can hang the goose beside the fire. If we had moose meat we would stick a piece of meat on the stick and on the other end of the stick we would dig it into the ground sideways, but very low so the meat can be right beside the fire. Look below so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. The people around the fire are my people and our Chief, Able Bosum. Sorry if you can't see clearly.

Now I'll continue on from were I left off, after a while my two older sisters got married and one of them lives in Ouje-bougoumou with her husband and 3 kids, my other sister lives in Florida, with her husband and 3 kids. In 1993 my family and I moved into our new home in Ouje-Bougoumou, not long after I started school here.

Here in Ouje-Bougougou there are all kinds of things to do, my friends and I usualy go play basketball at the baketball court, or hang around at the Youth Center to play pool or just walk around. The other things that people do is rollerblading, playing tennis, playing baseball or just bike riding.

In my family there are 8 of us and thats including my parents, but now that two are married theres only 6 of us living in the at home. I have two brothers one is 18 and the other one is 15, and I have a sister and she is 19, and she has a 1 year old son but he's going to be 2 in August and he is a real sweet heart.

How would you like to know what my hobbies are, well the things I like doing are playing basketball, playing pool, swimming, vollyball, and a bit of rollerblading and thats because I am not really good at them, but the thing I like most is listening to music. In the future I plan to go to college, but I don't know if I,ll make it University but I really hope I do.
