Hi my name is Steve Longchap and I am 13 years
old and I live in Oujé-Bougoumou.

This is a Cree camp. This is where the hunter lives all winter to
hunt and trap for the winter. In the summer he goes fishing with
his net so he will have a lot of fish for the season and he gets ready
for the winter. He also gets some wood to get warm and
traps beaver for food for him and his family too
.

This is
a drawing I did by hand I drew a picture
of a teepee. This is where our ancestors use to live
a long time ago before I was born. My grandparents
lived in a teepee too before the tents existed.

This a picture of me on the left and our Guide Julie in
the middle and my cousin Kyle on the right. Yesterday our
groups went for a mine tour in Chibougamau. We went to
visit the museum which was a gold mine a long time ago.
Our guide Julie showed us a lot of rocks and other
equipment the miners use to work with. It was a lot of
fun and we learned about mining from past to present.
It was my first time I went inside a mine and it was a
good experience for me.

This is the entrance to the cultural village of our community.
This is where people gather together to have fun and have activities
in the winter and summer. We have walking-out ceremonies and
feast there, or just to relax with your family. Sometimes
we sleep over on weekends.

This is a picture of me and my friends in our computer class. David Denton an Archeologist who showed us rocks and arrowheads and tools made from stone. He showed us how to dig for things in the ground using different colored layers of Jell-O with fruit as artifacts. After he was done everyone in the class got to the Jell-O, it was fun.

This is a picture of David and Anna Bosum. Me and Joey were under the bridge, I was with my friends. It was a hot day, at the end of the day we all got to go swimming. We had lots of fun and no one fell out of the canoes.
