Human Resources Development

The OBCN Cree Nation Vision Statement that directs the administrative and management activities of the HR department declares “We will pursue education to ensure that the future generations of our community will be economically viable, self-reliant, safe and healthy..” In terms of application, it translates into ensuring the services provided today by our departments are satisfactory, assessed regularly and all employees are informed and trained to meet the challenges of tomorrow! 

Each department is directed in its operations by guiding principles which mirror the OCN Vision Statement and for the HR department they include “we will administer policy fairly and equally to all”; we strongly encourage learning and personal development”; “we will create a healthy, safe and professional work environment” that govern our work place.

The vision to action process means the human resources department is responsible for effecting proactive planning and change in our service organization by developing strategies that support our community and organizational goals.
